About this event
Ringo Starr’s iconic Abbey Road era drum sound became the seed for many succesful ’70’s drum recordings. John Bonham’s Glyn Johns and Eddie Kramer eras drum sound defined air with a canvas of power and force.
Join Rich Pagano and Pete Caigan at Utopia Studios in Woodstock, NY as they uncover both drum sounds in one afternoon. Participants can expect a
hands-on experience with not only micing and placement, eq and compression but also period drum tuning, classic drum dampening and personal account/experience stories.
Original session photos will also be displayed, resourced and discussed.
~ First up will be a Led Zeppelin hands-on recording lecture and session,
followed by lunch (included) and then on to The Beatles
'Abbey Road era' hands-on lecture and session.
Both examples will include period correct drum sets.
Engineers, producers, songwriters and music lovers welcome!
Pete Caigan is the owner and chief engineer at Utopia Studios plus a
Led Zeppelin 'purist.' Rich Pagano has worked Geoff Emerick, Ken Scott,
